Influenza
Influenza is not a disease that just affects the older population; infants
and children are at risk as well. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) recommends that all children ages six months through 18 years be immunized
yearly from the flu.
Infants under the age of six months need to be protected also. Parents,
siblings and caregivers can provide protection by getting vaccinated from the
flu themselves.

Influenza Recommendations for Children
Families
Fighting Flu is an organization made up of pediatricians and families who
have lost a child due to the flu or have had a child experience severe medical
complications from the flu. Their goal is to help educate parents about the
seriousness of this disease and how important it is to protect children by
vaccinating them every year against influenza.
